January Promotions

Document Actions

Following the holiday rush, January tends to be a slower time for restaurants, but it doesn't have to be. Start the new year right with these promotional ideas that are certain to boost sales and drive away the winter blues.

A Happy and Healthy New Year
Ring in the New Year by running a special 2006 (or 2007 or whatever the year) promotion: For $20.06, diners can recieve a complete meal (or dinner for two depending on your ususal prices). By offering a whole dinner for a set price, you can introduce diners to your appetizers and desserts. Once they try your nachos, chocolate mousse pie, and other tempting dishes, they'll be hooked on your restaurant.
For many people, the New Year also signals the start of diet season. Highlight your salads and low-fat, low-calorie items this month. or you could take the opposite route and run a "Break Your New Year's Resolution" promotion in which you emphasize your desserts. Using table tents, posters, and chalkboards, encourage your guests to indulge themselves.

A Warming Trend
There's nothing like a hot drink on a cold winter day to warm the body and the soul. Boost your drink sales by offering tempting choices such as apple cider, cinnamon-and-spice tea, hazelnut cappuccino, and hot chocolate with Kahlua or mint liqueur, topped with whipped cream and grated chocolate. Have your servers offer such drinks to customers as soon as come in from the cold, as well as at dessert time.
