Marcia S. Harris Legacy Fund Scholarships Announced
The Maryland Hospitality Education Foundation is proud to announce the first winners of the Marcia S. Harris Legacy Fund Scholarships.
Through the generous support of Coastal Sunbelt Produce, Edson Miranda of Sherwood High School in Montgomery County has been awarded a $5000 scholarship for his studies at Kendall College in the fall of 2008. In addition, Ashley Duvall of Fort Hill High School in Allegany County will receive $4,000 toward her studies at Baltimore International Culinary. $2,000 awards will be given to Danielle Dadourian of Howard High School in Howard County and to Peter Gallagher, who attends Anne Arundel Community College's Hospitality, Culinary and Tourism program. Additionally, $1,000 awards are being provided to Brittany Goldman of Carver Center for the Arts in Baltimore County and to Kenneth Hund from Westminster High School in Carroll County. Both will be attending the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York in the fall.
The scholarship, named after the late CEO of the Maryland Hospitality Education Foundation and the Restaurant Association, is awarded to students who possess the qualities of passion, dedication and a strong desire to improve the foodservice industry through the personal pursuit of professionalism.
