Linda Eby named MHEF Chairwoman of the Board for 2008
The Maryland Hospitality Education Foundation (MHEF) welcomed Linda Eby, Marketing Director for Performance Food Group, Carroll County Foods in New Windsor, Maryland, as the 2008-2009 Chairwoman of the MHEF Board of Directors. Eby has been active with the Education Foundation for eight years.
“It is a pleasure to have someone so dedicated to our organization as our leader for the next year and a half,” said Marshall Weston Jr., Executive Vice President of the Maryland Hospitality Education Foundation. “I look forward to working closely with Ms. Eby planning the next stages of growth for the Foundation.” Eby has been an active member of MHEF with her focus on the annual Future’s Open golf tournament which raises over $15,000 for the Foundation each year.
MHEF offers food safety and responsible alcohol service training to those in the hospitality industry along with its school-to-career program, ProStart. The ProStart program is a two-year curriculum designed to teach high school students culinary and management skills needed for a career in the restaurant and foodservice industry. MHEF also provides scholarships for students wishing to pursue culinary and management degrees at the post-secondary level. Maryland has nearly 3,000 students in the ProStart program each year.
