Finding a Job
- Visit MHEF.org's Job Bank to search for jobs and post your resume.
- Ask friends, colleagues, other students and parents to keep their ears open about job opportunities.
- If there is a particular restaurant where you would like to work, go to the restaurant on a slow night, introduce yourself to the waitperson and ask to meet the chef. If the restaurant is very high-end, consider calling the chef to prearrange for an informational interview. An informational interview is not a job interview but is simply a way for you to introduce yourself and find out more about the organization. Then you can call back periodically to see if there are openings, or ask the chef to call you when there is an opening.
- Attend local and regional job fairs.
- Visit MHEF.org's Library for other Job Banks.
